Player models in Counter-Strike 1.6 have always been more than simple visuals - they help shape the atmosphere of every game. From tactical military squads to superheroes, movie characters, and even funny community creations, custom models became a popular way for players to give the game a different look and personality.

This page is my collection of player models for CS 1.6. Every model is tested in-game and available with direct download links. I’ve added screenshots and short notes so you can easily see how each model looks and what files are included.

The collection includes many different styles of player models. Some keep the classic tactical feel of CS 1.6 with small visual changes, while others introduce well-known characters such as Spider-Man, Joker, Captain America, or even Homer. I update this page from time to time, so new models may appear as the collection grows.

Player Models for CS 1.6

Below you’ll find every all Player models I’ve added to this page. Each model comes with a screenshot, notes, and download link - so you can quickly choose the one you like and install it in just a few minutes.

Counter-Strike 1.6 has eight default factions - four Counter-Terrorists and four Terrorists. Each faction uses its own .mdl file. A custom model usually replaces one of these files. For example, the Captain America model comes as gign.mdl (CT). If you rename it to arctic.mdl or terror.mdl, the same model will appear on the Terrorist side. If you replace all four CT or all four T files with the same model, the entire team will use that skin.

Counter-Terrorists Factions

GIGN (gign.mdl) - National Gendarmerie Intervention Group, French.
GSG-9 (gsg9.mdl) - GSG 9 of the Federal Police, German.
SAS (sas.mdl) - Special Air Service, England.
Urban (urban.mdl) - Conditional "urban special forces" (prototype of SWAT, but without direct reference to real units).

Terrorists

Arctic Avengers (arctic.mdl) - A fictional Swedish terrorist faction with white snow camouflage for arctic environments.
Guerilla Warfare (guerilla.mdl) - Fictional guerrilla fighters inspired by Middle Eastern and Balkan militias. Wear forest camouflage outfits.
Elite Crew (leet.mdl) - Also called "Leet Krew" (1337 Krew). Based on Middle Eastern extremists.
Phoenix Connexion (terror.mdl) - Fictional Eastern European group, recognizable by their red/brown jackets and masks.
