CS2 Buy Binds Guide

Understanding the Significance of Quick Buys in CS 2

While CS2’s “Matchmaking” generally allows ample time for players to purchase equipment and strategize during the freeze time (controlled by the cvar mp_freezetime 15), certain situations demand rapid decision-making. In instances where time is a luxury, players may find themselves in tight spots, unable to make desired purchases due to a limited balance. Swiftly acquiring armor and weapons within a mere second can prove pivotal in turning the tide of a match. Furthermore, some public servers set the freeze time to mp_freezetime 0, necessitating players to act swiftly from the onset of each round. This is where quick purchases become essential. In this guide, we’ll delve into the art of binding weapons and creating buy scripts in CS2 to minimize purchase time at the start of each round.

Efficiently Create Weapon Sets with a Single Key Press

How it Works

  • Assign a Key or Button:
Choose the key or mouse button you want to bind actions to
  • Choose the weapons/items to Buy:
Select one or more weapons/items to buy when the key is pressed
  • Activate the Bind:
Use the BIND command in the console to create the binding

Syntax for One Purchase:

					bind "execute_button" "buy weapon/item"

Syntax for Multi-Purchases:

					bind "execute_button" "buy weapon/item1; buy weapon/item2; buy weapon/itemN"

Key Elements

  • bind:
    The “bind” console command
  • execute_button:
The key or mouse button to bind (e.g., “h“, “F9“, “mouse4“)
  • buy weapon/item1, buy weapon/item2, buy weapon/itemN:
Console commands to execute, separated by semicolons

Example for One Purchase:

					bind "h" "buy ak47"

Example for Multi-Purchase:

bind "h" "buy ak47; buy deagle; buy kevlar"

Explanation:

bind: Assigns (binds) the keyboard “h” button to execute the “buy” command.
h: The execute_button.
buy: The command_to_execute.
ak47, deagle, and kevlar: The command_value.
Pressing the assigned button, such as “h,” will execute the “buy” command, and the player will receive an AK47 gun. In the second example, the player will acquire an AK47 gun, a Deagle pistol, and Kevlar if they have sufficient funds.

The list of commands must be separated by a semicolon. While not necessary, including a semicolon at the end of the list won’t cause an error. The bind will still function even if the player lacks enough money for a full purchase, halting execution when funds are insufficient. For instance, with a bind like:

bind "F5" "buy deagle; buy hegrenade; buy flashbang; buy flashbang; buy smokegrenade; buy defuser"
or
bind "F5" "buy 700$; buy 300$; buy 200$; buy 200$; buy 300$; buy 400$"

the bind will work, but the player will only purchase what they can afford with their available funds.

Some weapons require installation (switching) in the CS 2 player's inventory. For example Desert Eagle/R8 Revolver, M4A4/M4A1-S, etc.

Bind Examples for Efficient Purchases in CS 2

Incendiary Grenade, Molotov, and Defuse Kit by “F3” key:

bind "F3" "buy incgrenade; buy molotov; buy defuser"

High Explosive Grenade, Flashbang, Smoke Grenade, and Defuse Kit by “F4” key:

bind "F4" "buy hegrenade; buy flashbang; buy smokegrenade; buy defuser"

Desert Eagle, Kevlar & Helmet, and Defuse Kit by “F5” key:

bind "F5" "buy deagle; buy vesthelm; buy defuser"

Rifle SG 553 or AUG, Kevlar & Helmet, and Defuse Kit by “F6” key:

bind "F6" "buy sg556; buy aug; buy vesthelm; buy defuser"

Rifle AK-47 or M4A1-S, Kevlar & Helmet, and Defuse Kit by “F7” key:

bind "F7" "buy ak47; buy m4a1_silencer; buy vesthelm; buy defuser"

Rifle SCAR20 or G3SG1, Kevlar & Helmet, and Defuse Kit by “F8” key:

bind "F8" "buy scar20; buy g3sg1; buy vesthelm; buy defuser"

Rifle AWP, Kevlar & Helmet, and Defuse Kit by “F9” key:

bind "F9" "buy awp; buy vesthelm; buy defuser"

Defuse Kit, Rifle AWP, and Kevlar & Helmet by “F10” key:

It's essential to note that purchasing occurs from left to right. Consider strategically placing the Defuse Kit first when playing as the Counter-Terrorist side to ensure adequate funds for this critical item.

bind "F10" "buy defuser; buy awp; buy vesthelm"

These examples of binds can optimize your buying process, allowing for swift and efficient acquisition of essential items, and contributing to a more seamless gaming experience in Counter-Strike 2, also now you can create and combine such binds by yourself.

How to get the weapon/item by console in CS 2

You should use the “give” console command to get any weapon/item in Counter-Strike 2. Also, you need to activate the cheats mode before you can use the “give” console command.

					sv_cheats 1
give weapon_ak47

In Counter-Strike 2, the sv_cheats console command can take either “1/0” or “true/false” as values. Both variants are acceptable.

					sv_cheats true
give weapon_ak47
